New Product News story from Techno CNC Systems, LLC.

TECHNO CNC SYSTEMS HD SERIES CNC ROUTER PROVIDES AN ECONOMICAL CUTTING SOLUTION TO ALUMINUM SHEET PROCESSING.

New Hyde Park, NY — November 18, 2013

Techno CNC Systems announces the versatile tool for the general fabricator looking for quality equipment to streamline their production of aluminum components.
Aluminum sheet processing is made easy on an HD Series CNC Router. You can change feed rates and spindle RPM to go from wood, to plastic, to aluminum, and back again using router bits with specific geometry designed to route various materials.

The HD CNC Router features heavy duty, all steel construction with superior quality components such as THK rails and bearings, precision rack-n-pinion drives on the X and Y axes, and a ballscrew on the Z axis providing accuracy and smooth play-free motion. This machine is powered with brushless micro stepper motors that require no maintenance and is equipped with a 4 HP HSD high frequency collet spindle that uses industry standard ER collets, with fully programmable speeds from 6,000 to 18,000 RPM, and comes complete with vacuum hood and wrenches. A multi-zoned vacuum table surface allows the operator to easily switch from full sheet processing to smaller part processing, gasketing can be routed to accommodate various material sizes and styles, and automatic tool calibration easily and accurately locates the “Z” zero position for single and multiple tool changes. The operator controls the machine with an intuitive hand-held controller that facilitates installation and training. Open architecture works seamlessly with all industry standard CAD/CAM software. This system functions independently of a PC and files are transferred via a USB memory stick. The electronics are housed in a double-door industrial cabinet that conveniently serves as a work table for the tools required.
Techno CNC System’s precision HD Series CNC router is guaranteed to streamline any shop production. Please contact their sales application engineers today at (516) 328-3970 to learn more about how this can benefit your business and product quality or visit www.technocnc.com.

Weekly Tip • For a Cleaner Cut

Solid carbide router bits provide the longest tool life with the best rigidity and finish.
... and they stay sharp longer.

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Weekly Tip • Proper Feed and Speed Check

After you are finished cutting your material, run a "Cool Tool" test by checking the temperature of the tool.
If a proper feed and speed were utilized, the tool should be at or near room temperature.

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Weekly Tip • A few words on Collet and Tool Life

Collets and bits should be cleaned after every tool change to extend collet and tool life.

Also, collets should be changed on a regular basis, generally speaking, after 400-500 run time hours.

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Weekly Tip • Which feed direction is best for cutting wood?

The feed direction for a router bit should be conventional for most applications. This will provide the best finish.

If you are cutting wood where multi-directional grain patterns have to be considered, it is often necessary to use climb cutting to reduce splintering.

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Weekly Tip • How can I improve top and bottom finishes on veneered or laminated materials?

You can improve top and bottom finishes on veneered or laminated materials by using up/down compression spiral bits.

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Weekly Tip • Which size cutter makes the necessary depth of cut?

You should use the shortest cutting edge length available to make the necessary depth of cut.

For example, when your project requires a cut that is 3/4" deep, try to use a 7/8" or 1" cutter.

CNC Signmaking 101!

Our Signmaking 101 seminar was a HUGE success, so an extra special thanks goes out to everyone in attendance!

The day started off with lots of coffee, bagels and donuts while everyone gathered and chatted about everything sign related-including some great marketing tips. The group then headed into the boardroom, while our resident guru extraordinaire-Ken McBride walked everyone through the use of our ADA compliant Braille insertion tool. Ken also covered using software nesting to have greater material yield when cutting letters.

The group then got a chance to meet Jamie Oxenham-CNC router crazy-man! If you didn't know already, Jamie and his wife Jody own  "Oxenham Design" up in the wilds of Ontario, Canada making tons of crazy things on their Techno RG and LC routers. If it's creative, they can router it!

Jamie showed us a 2' sign he was having our in house LC 4896 router carve from HDU foam. The purpose of the demo was showing us how small 3d text can become very jagged and messy. His solution is brilliantly simple and very fast, and results in no hand cleanup!

All of the topics that were covered are available as PDF downloads from the link below:
http://www.technocnc.com/training/CNC-101.htm

This was kind of a first for us, and we are quite pleased with the feedback we've recieved!
Keep your eyes on our Facebook page for our next seminar announcement-It's going be something everyone will want to attend!

CNC Signmaking 101

Just to let everyone know, we are hosting our first CNC Signmaking seminar on Friday Mar 15!
We will be covering the basics of nesting letters and how to use our braille insertion tool, as well as pocketing toolpaths for letters.

Jamie Oxenham, from Oxenham Design, will be attending to show everyone how to clean up dimensional letters when carving reliefs. He'll walk through the software end using Aspire, and then demo the results on one of our resident machines.

Jamie has been involved with props and sets for the entertainment industry for over 20 years!
He blogs almost daily about the processes involved in the stuff his company creates, here's the blog link for more information: www.fromaspiretobeyond.blogspot.com

This promises to be fun and informative morning, if you haven't signed up yet, you can do so

Tip of the Week • Skip Function

  —   LC Equipment Users
Did you Know?

To use the “skip” function, first start your file like normal. Once the file is started, pause it and then hit “skip”. It will ask what percent you want to skip to.

You can’t skip backwards, so if you’re not sure, start a few percent early. You can always skip again. Unfortunately, there really isn’t an accurate way to figure out what percent you need, but sometimes what we do is use the previewer to get a better guess.

The previewer has a progress bar along the bottom as the file is drawn. You can watch it draw slowly and get a better idea of what percent you want to pick up at.

We hope this helps.

Tip of the Week • Show Us Your Stuff!!!!

Every Techno CNC router comes with an amazing amount of creative potential already installed. Just like you!

Some users make endless amounts of cabinet pieces, some make orthotics, and some make signs. But the truth is, everyone makes something special. We are constantly amazed at what our users are creating on their Techno CNC’s. You see, we’re a group of engineers, software experts, and some of us are even total egg-heads! We don’t always see the creative potential we install into every machine, but you guys do. And for that, we want to thank you.

We want to see your cabinets, your orthotics, your signs, heck, we want to see everything Techno your doing.

That’s why we started our Facebook page. We want you to share what your doing with the world. We encourage everyone to post pictures of their work, because if your interested in what you create, there’s about 9 million other people who are just as interested, and want to see it, too.

Customer Spotlight!!!

This week we are featuring Grant Nicholson in our Customer Spotlight post!

After Working for over 20 years as a graphic designer, Grant Nicholson decided he was tired of working in the virtual world. He wanted to find a tool that could turn his design concepts into real world objects, and a cnc router fit the bill perfectly! His decision led him to purchase our Techno LC series cnc router.

Nicholson says that the LC series has helped him “Rise to the cream of the crop in the sign business in my region” This is due to the ability to produce complex 3d designs that his competitors can't match. He also produces a wide range of woodworking products, including wood floor inlays and newels for stair-posts.

“My Techno router pays for itself every year by increasing the quality of my work, and reducing the amount of time to produce it” He also confesses that “I think of the router as a virtual chisel, and sometimes I stay awake at night thinking about it's endless possibilities!”

“The Techno router has many diverse possibilities that help me supply virtually anything my customers can imagine,” Nicholson concluded. "Advancements in software, coupled with these devices, offer an unprecedented opportunity for the creative designer to produce their ideas in full dimension, in house. It has been a great adventure understanding the broad capabilities of this machine and I continue to discover new possibilities on a regular basis."

Grant is featured in the January, 2013 issue of "Sign Media Canada" You can check out his amazing work at http://www.gnicholsondesign.com/

Congratulations Grant! You deserve it!!!

Techno Customer Receives his 4th Techno HDS CNC Router for their High Volume Plastics Routing Production

Techno is proud to announce the completion of it's fourth machine installation into a large volume plastics production company.

Due to the high level security and product classification, we cannot divulge who the customer is but would like to congratulate them on their vast growth and success during the past several years.

The customer is happy to report that they plan on adding two more new HDS machines this year taking advantage of the 2013 section 179 tax law. The customer claims they will be able to write off 50% of many types of capital investments exceeding the deduction limit in the first year.

This special provision was going to expire on 12/31/12, but Congress extended it. Furthermore, the definition of "qualifying assets" will continue to include computer software in 2013, as the new legislation extended this piece of Section 179 for one year.

The company claims the new tax law will save them over $40,000 by adding the additional machines. They are also forecasting a 25% growth this year, and don't see any slow down in the near or distant future.

Another great example of Small Investments producing Big Returns!

Colfax High School!

We were recently sent a video from Jonathan from Colfax High School in CA. Jonathan teaches math, as well as woodshop. They're creating a pair of skis from start to finish, using their Techno lc 3024. Great work guys!!!
We love to see what everyone's making with a Techno.
